Capital Circle

Online Payment Foundation

Your Investments via Capital Circle

Your investments in projects through Capital Circle are processed via the bank account of the Online Payment Platform (OPP) Third-Party Funds Foundation. You transfer your investment directly to OPP. Once a project’s target amount has been reached, and the Loan Agreement has been signed, OPP transfers the funds to the Entrepreneur. The entrepreneur then makes monthly repayments to OPP, which in turn distributes these payments to the investors.

If a project’s target amount is not reached, your investment will be refunded by OPP.

Who is Online Payment Platform?

As of November, a European Crowdfunding Regulation has been introduced, aiming to provide investors in crowdfunding projects with greater protection and transparency. Supervision of this regulation is carried out by ESMA (the European Securities and Markets Authority) and in the Netherlands by the AFM (Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets).

One key measure under this regulation is the requirement that payment services be separated from the crowdfunding platform itself and handled by a specialised payment institution. Capital Circle has partnered with Online Payment Platform (OPP) to manage all financial transactions.

OPP holds a PSD2 licence from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB) and operates under the supervision of the DNB.
