Supporting Entrepreneurs Is Our Driving Force
The KOM Group was founded on 30 August 2013 under the name Kapitaal op Maat by seven passionate entrepreneurs. Each of them contributed their knowledge and experience to establish Kapitaal op Maat as the leading crowdfunding platform in the Netherlands.
Exactly five years later, on 30 August 2018, Kapitaal op Maat was acquired by the existing management team. The new shareholders have further expanded and developed the platform into the Netherlands’ premier crowdfunding service provider. The acquisition enabled Kapitaal op Maat to continue evolving its platform and to increase the number of investment projects. As a true FinTech company, Kapitaal op Maat always seeks technological solutions first and strives to keep its team lean and efficient.
On 30 November 2022, Kapitaal op Maat obtained the European Crowdfunding Service Provider (ECSPR) licence from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).
As of 1 October 2023, Kapitaal op Maat B.V. has been renamed KOM Group B.V., and on the same date, it acquired Capital Circle. The KOM Group has also passportised its ECSPR licence to all other EU countries, enabling it to operate throughout the European Union. The KOM Group aims to use the Capital Circle label for all international activities.
The daily management of Kapitaal op Maat is entrusted to:

History
Capital Circle was acquired by the KOM Group on 1 October 2023. On 30 November 2022, the KOM Group was granted a European Crowdfunding Service Provider (ECSPR) licence by the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM).
This licence marks a significant step in the professionalisation of the crowdfunding sector, as it ensures that uniform rules apply across the European Union. These regulations primarily focus on transparency, investor protection, and operational processes.
Under this European regulatory framework, Capital Circle will contribute to building a transparent European capital market, one that remains accessible to as many lenders and borrowers as possible.
Mission & Vision of the KOM Group
Mission
The KOM Group’s mission is to help create a competitive and robust model within the very heart of the capitalist system — the financial system — where market risk is separated from the entities that provide the infrastructure.
Vision
The KOM Group envisions the development of a non-bank European capital market operated by licensed service providers. This market will exist entirely online, offering digital access to participants. Within this platform environment, lenders and borrowers will be matched through fully automated processes.
Leveraging its European licence, the KOM Group aims to be a relevant and authoritative player within this emerging non-bank capital market in Europe.
